For most car guys the first thing they do to their car, when it becomes their’s is remove any sort of dealership stickers, or badge on the car. It’s your car you shouldn’t be charged with advertising for some crappy dealership. However most people don’t care enough to vacuum there cars carpets, or avoid the universal parts section of Autozone, so they are not going to take the time to remove a sticker that was on the car when they bought it.

This one is by far the best I’ve seen its for Fox Ford in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s actually well thought out, and nice too look at. the worst would be RhinelanderGM,min RhinelanderGM Wi, my old homertown. Who plaster their website across the entire back window of their cars. Not exactly classy, of I was buying a car from them I would demand they remove that trash before I took delivery of the car.

Kinja'd!!!

So what are the best, or worst Dealership logos you’ve seen, on some uncaring pesent’s automobile.

POs of my car didn't not remove it and it is now as flaky as paint and a bitch to get off.

I’ve seen that Fox Ford badge many times, never realizing that it was a dealer logo from across the state! I thought it was just some canine enthusiast thing. Certainly more classy than “I my rottweiler”...

Funny, I was just thinking about this as I was stuck in traffic driving to the airport this afternoon. Was debating posting this exact question! I've already forgotten the dealer sticker that sparked the idea though.

I’ve had my Foz for 9 months and I’m still trying to get rid of the last of the residue left by this awful sticker, so it gets my vote for worst. Yes that is a trash can in my trunk. Thankfull, I have tint now.

Bonus pink Buick Ranier that was the next picture in my camera roll because wtf pink body on frame Buick SUV needs to be posted somewhere.

Final note: Carmax stickers can be scraped off with a fingernail. Lots of pieces because it's die cut, but was super easy to get off of my previous car.

I just picked up my Juke last week, all they put on was plate frame. It was nice, I drove to Canadian Tire and bought 2 clear cover’s not even 20 minutes after I drove it off the lot. It seems GM dealers are the worst for it.

Seems pretty typical for Texas though, I'm pretty sure no other state is as generally proud of itself as Texas. Also, Ranier! I was trying to remember then name of the Buick Tailblazer the other day. I saw the Isuzu variant the other today too.

I was going to mention in the original post, that I think the best solution for this problem is branded plate frames.

Not a sticker per-se but I have always liked the (original) dealership license plate frame that is somehow still with my E36 almost 20 years later. Usually not a fan of dealership frames, but I can’t get rid of this one. It’s been with it too long.

Ascender!

This has to be close to the record for number of rebadges of one vehicle in the same market: TrailBlazer, Ascender, Envoy, 9-7X, Ranier, Bravada... same SUV different grille and tail lamps and that's about it.

Special shout out to the Hummer H3 that was on the Coloranyon chassis and used a 5-cylinder version of the TrailBlazer inline-6.

One of the dealers around here puts a little silver star on cars they sell, which I have always found pretty acceptable. I think the fox is better, but you take what you can get...

The dealer for my last car, thankfully, didn’t apply any stickers. Just paper plates and frames, all of which I removed immediately upon getting home with the car. I don’t like plate frames to begin with, let alone advertising ones, but at least they’re better than stickers.

They do seem to be the most reasonable middle ground, but I often notice that people never remove or replace them. My Lincoln came with the original frames the car came off the lot with. I couldn’t believe they were never removed/replaced in spite of being so faded and rough looking. On top of that, the original owner brought it to the dealer for every single service from the time it was bought. Every. Single. One... You’d think that someone would have noticed how rough those frames were looking and that they would have replaced them with new ones during one of the scheduled maintenance visits...

It reminds me of when I removed all but the “Chevy” on my first car, or the time my ex-gf’s Chevy Classic lost the final C after about the third or fourth trip through a car wash it had in it’s life (that thing was a piece of shit and the only time I know it was cleaned before that time was after we first met when she was trying her best to impress me...). I then pulled the “I” off and rubbed the remaining rubber stuff off and cleaned the surrounding dirt/discoloration off enough that after a month or so you’d think they intended it to be that way.

Of course, later another of those letters fell off, so they all got removed, leaving the rubber since I knew nobody would ever clean that self-propelled dumpster.

Hmm... I have never noticed one like this, I’ll keep my eyes peeled. That would probably drive me insane...

As a side note, my buddy had a mid-70s GMC in the 90s-00s that had a smooth original bumper. My grandpa’s Ford from the same era didn’t have anything on the bumper, either...

I wonder if this is why so many have/had aftermarket bumpers.

I think it’s done more on used cars... Still, definitely with you there.

New cars probably get traded among dealers often enough that there’s a disincentive to defacing them like this.

Mercedes of SF puts it on all of them, we have RAB motors in Marin and they do too, I can see where they all come from. I sure as hell would have them remove it from an S class if I bought it. People are proud of it I think.

Eh, people in the Bay Area are crazy. Buying an S class for a large swath of the population there is the equivalent of people in most of the country buying a Nissan Versa.

Are you sure they’re not used? I bet a lot of people lease cars for very short periods there.

Working at a dealership that sells new cars: HAHAHAHA nope. Dealer trades are often LOADED with license plates, license plate holders, frames, stickers, badges, etc. linking them to the previous dealership. It’s super fun to remove (we have special solvents and lots of plastic razor blades)
